Overview
Yusmarg is a long, gently sloping meadow in Budgam district, wrapped in pine and fir and backed by the Pir Panjal range. Local legend links its name to a visit by Jesus — ‘Yus’ — which gives the place its quiet, almost reverent reputation.
From the meadow, a short pony ride or walk leads to the Nilnag lake and the Doodh Ganga river, making it a peaceful alternative to Kashmir’s busier resorts.
